Description

The Tourist Information Service carries out the main function of welcoming, informing and advising visitors as well as providing accurate and detailed information on accommodation capacity, catering, transport, commercial businesses, utilities, historic, artistic and natural resources and their accessibility, tourist itineraries, events, leisure and sport and anything else useful to ensure the exploitation of local resources. Managed by qualified personnel, the Centre offers visitors the opportunity to acquire a large selection of free information material for complete information. The staff is also able, on request, to report and contact the many free facilities (accommodation, catering, etc.) in the area in order to meet any kind of needs.


Type of services and information provided to tourist

Tourists can acquire a variety of information such as:

INFORMATION ON THE CITY: Provision of information on municipal services (offices, opening hours, etc ...), as well as all the useful addresses for BANKS, POST OFFICE, EMERGENCY, HOSPITALS AND HEALTH, information of public safety and INFORMATION FOR MOTORISTS (fuel distributors, mechanics, etc).
WHERE TO STAY: lists and information sheets of all the facilities in the area: HOTELS, CAMPING, resorts, BED & BREAKFAST, Agritourism, Hostels...
WHERE TO EAT: lists and information sheets of all structures where you can eat, such as BARS, RESTAURANTS, PIZZERIE, Agritourism, etc ...;
SERVICES: Information and useful addresses on transport, travel guides, leisure and sport, etc ...;
EVENTS: useful information and material on events taking place in town. In addition, with the help of the Operator, it’s possible to find information and material on the major events / parties / festivals of the Region;
CULTURAL ROUTES: information and material on exhibitions, museums, churches, monuments to visit, etc.

Requirements for service start-up

To start-up the service, it’s necessary to provide:

  • A suitable room to welcome the tourist;
  • A Station supplied with PC, internet connection, telephone and printer;
  • Shelving and / or display racks for the informative material.

Costs

The determinants of the costs of the service (start-up and management), include various factors such as the opening hours per week, personnel cost etc....However the service has the following fixed costs to be calculated:

PERSONNEL: The personnel costs has to be defined according to the contract to be applied (pay grade and type of contract);
OVERHEAD COSTS FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF SERVICE;
HIRING OF ANY ADDITIONAL EQUIPMENT (PC, PRINTER);
CHARGES FOR ANY STATIONERY MATERIAL
